Sir Chris Hoy, the six-time Olympic gold medalist, shocked the sports world last night when he revealed that his previously shared cancer diagnosis is terminal.
He was told by doctors that he has between two and four years to live, reports the Mirror. Initially believing a pain in his shoulder to be a gym injury, the father-of-two was diagnosed with prostate cancer which had spread to form tumours in his shoulder, pelvis, hip, spine and ribs.
Doctors told the 48-year-old it was stage 4 cancer. "And just like that, I learn how I will die," Chris writes in his new book.
Tragically, Chris' wife Sarra has also been diagnosed with an aggressive form of Multiple Sclerosis, dealing a devastating double blow to the family.
