The Voice USA season 11 champ Jason 'Sundance' Head was shot on his Texas ranch on Friday 15 November. His agent, Trey Newman, told the New York Post that the country star is "stable" after a gunshot wound "to his navel area." Luckily, it "missed all vital organs" and "was not self-inflicted." Trey shared that the origin of the shot is still unknown: "We don't know if it was an accident with his gun or if it was another hunter nearby," he said. The agent added: "The bullet is lodged in some fatty tissue, and the only way it could have happened is if it travelled through something else." He revealed that Sundance Head called emergency services himself and was "life-flighted" from his ranch to the hospital. "We thought he was going to go in for immediate surgery," Trey stated, reports the Mirror US. "It sounds like they're gonna leave it in there.
His wife is on the way to the hospital now to get a little more information from the doctors. We're not sure if he is awake." Meanwhile, Sundance Head's wife, Misty, reached out for support on Facebook with a heart-wrenching plea: "Prayer Warriors we need y'all. This is Misty - I don't have a lot of information but please keep Sundance in your prayers.
Sundance has been life flighted with a gunshot wound to his stomach per the paramedics who called me," she wrote on Friday. "They told me once they land he's going in for immediate surgery. They did get him stable for the flight (per the paramedic) We are on our way to Tyler now.
Again this is the only information I have at the time. Please just keep him in your prayers." Later, some relief came through with her update, "Doctor just called me, bullet went in above his navel and lodged into his abdominal wall missing all vital organs..
