White House confirms Donald Trump has coronavirus symptoms after testing positive

Trump confirmed he had tested positive along with First Lady Melania Trump in a tweet this morning, October 2. Hope Hicks, one of Mr Trump's closest aides, earlier tested positive for Covid-19.

Trump said: “Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately.

We will get through this TOGETHER!"First Lady Melania added: "As too many Americans have done this year, @potus & I are quarantining at home after testing positive.
