Covid-19 may not have originated in a wet market in Wuhan - but was not the result of a 'lab leak', experts have said. Investigators from the World Health Organisation today shared the first findings of their four-week probe into how the coronavirus pandemic started.
They say there is no evidence that Covid-19 was present in Wuhan before December 2019. They suggested that Covid may not have originated at a seafood market in Wuhan, while also ruling out theories it leaked out of virology laboratory.
The head of the WHO-led team probing the origins of COVID-19 said on Tuesday that its investigation had uncovered new information but had not dramatically changed the picture of the outbreak.
