Willian has finally been given permission by Chelsea to return to Brazil and see his family amid the coronavirus pandemic. The 31-year-old reportedly pleaded with the club last week to allow him to fly back to his home country, where his wife and twin daughters are currently residing.
And tonight the Blues confirmed they have accepted his appeal on compassionate grounds and are therefore granting him leave of absence.
It is unclear how long Willian be allowed to remain in Brazil for, with Frank Lampard’s side expected to return to training on April 6 after completing their three-week lockdown period.
