A naive young woman who mocked social distancing in a video has been diagnosed with coronavirus. Ireland Tate, from Tennessee, joked to followers about not following orders to stay inside over the outbreak that has killed almost 30,000 people.
She said she was “aware that we’re supposed to be self-quarantining and social distancing to keep everyone safe” but insisted she was not concerned.
Ms Tate added: “Cool. I get it. I just don’t think that I’m going to get the virus." But now the tables have turned, after she tested positive for Covid-19.
She had earlier reported having symptoms associated with the virus. Ms Tate bemoaned: to WZTV: "It feels like someone is sitting on my chest at all times.
