The UK has reported another 786 deaths from Covid-19 - a record number - bringing the total figure to 6,159. The data also shows that 55,242 people have tested positive for coronavirus, according to the Department of Health.
This has risen by 3,634 from the previous figure of 51,608. The British Prime Minister is among those being treated in hospital for coronavirus.
Boris Johnson is "stable" after spending the night in intensive care, according to Downing Street. Mr Johnson's spokesman said he had been receiving "standard oxygen treatment" but had not required any other assistance in breathing.
The UK is in a state of almost total lockdown, a situation that is due to be reviewed early next week. Some ministers have suggested the measures
