Gavin Creel, known for his role in American Horror Stories, has tragically passed away at the age of 48.The actor was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer, Sarcoma, in July this year and sadly died at his home in Manhattan, New York, as announced by his partner, Alex Temple Ward on Monday, September 30.
Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in connective tissues such as bones, muscle, fat, nerves and blood vessels, often found in the arms and legs.
Gavin was undergoing treatment at New York's Memorial Sloan Kettering following his heartbreaking diagnosis, before being moved to hospice care at his home.
Throughout his career, Gavin made numerous appearances on Broadway and even earned a Tony Award nomination after his debut as a lead in the 2002 production of Thoroughly Modern Millie, reports the Mirror.
