A main road in Oldham was blocked with travel delays caused after a lorry smashed into a tram on Tuesday morning (October 29).
Emergency services vehicles, including ambulances and police cars, lined the road after the HGV collided with the East Didsbury tram at around 10am.
There were delays with tram services suspended between Oldham Mumps and Freehold stations. Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) said there was 'minimal damage' to both vehicles and that no injuries were reported. The incident was cleared after an hour. A TfGM spokesperson said: “Shortly before 10am today, a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) collided with a tram on King Street, Oldham. “Services were suspended between Oldham Mumps and Freehold while Metrolink staff attended the incident.
