Asda announces new opening hours as coronavirus lockdown continues

When lockdown was first announced, most UK supermarkets took the decision to cut opening hours to manage crowd levels and allow staff adequate time to restock shelves.

Asda, which usually operates on a 24/7 basis, was among retailers to change opening hours, with stores closing at 8pm for several weeks.

The retail giant has now announced another change to hours. A post shared on social media read: "Most of our stores are now open for longer to allow you more time to shop with us – stores will now be open Monday - Saturday 8am - 10pm.* Normal Sunday trading hours will remain the same. "We replenish our stores throughout the day to make sure you can get everything you need, whatever time of day you shop with us." The supermarket notes:
