Emergency legislation has been brought in banning bailiffs from visiting homes to enforce debts during Covid-19 restrictions.
Legislation that came into force on Friday saying in person visits were not allowed during the Coronavirus lockdown thanks to the risk of spreading the disease.
However, it's not quite a complete ban on bailiffs - with contacting people by hone or email still allowed. A Ministry of Justice memo said the move was to prevent enforcement agents coming "under pressure from their employing firms and from creditors" at a time visits could "endanger the health of both enforcement agents and debtors".
