Covid-19. The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) confirmed the outbreak at Barlinnie comes after a number of staff tested positive last week.
The detected cases sparked testing at the jail in Riddrie, in the north-east of Glasgow, following which a number of inmates have also tested positive.
A SPS spokesman told the Record: "A number of cases were found among Barlinnie Prison staff last week."Tests were then carried out last week as a result."A significant number of people have since tested positive for Covid-19."Most of these people are staff members, with a few prisoners testing positive."Most of those people are asymptomatic."This doesn't mean that those people who have tested positive are currently infected or infectious."There have also.
