Thousands of Brits are ignoring coronavirus lockdown rules and heading to crowded beaches and parks as the weather warms up.

The government has ordered people to only leave their homes for essential reasons (such as buying food or medicine) and has banned gatherings of more than two people.

The extreme new measures are intended to slow the spread of Covid-19 and save thousands more from dying as the death toll surges past 1000.
