One of the UK's top health chiefs has warned that boozers up and down the country might be some of the last establishments to open as the coronavirus lockdown is lifted.
Speaking at the daily Downing Street press conference on Saturday, Dr Jenny Harries, England's deputy chief medical officer, said Brits should avoid a pub visit for the foreseeable future.
That's because the virus can survive longer inside. While being outside is generally safer, people's actions and how they get to their destination will be important, Dr Harries warned.
Acknowledging lots of people are keen to get back to the pub, Dr Harries added that not going is the best way to reduce the risk of catching and spreading Covid-19.
