New pictures have emerged of builders turning up at construction sites despite the coronavirus lockdown – with tradesmen furious at their lack of protection.
All non-essential shops have already been shut and tens of millions of Brits have been ordered to work from home. Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick yesterday told Sky News that construction on open-air sites can continue, but workers should follow social distancing advice.
However, builders have said this is effectively impossible on sites where hundreds of them work together. Pictures taken this morning show employees carrying out construction work close to each other at the old Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, Scotland.
