Hero war veteran and NHS fundraiser Captain Tom Moore is to be knighted by the Queen after his charity work inspired the nation.The 100-year-old Second World War veteran raised almost £33 million for health service charities by walking laps of his garden.Prime Minister Boris Johnson described Sir Tom as a "true national treasure" and praised his "fantastic fundraising".After recommending Sir Tom for the latest honour, Mr Johnson added that the centernarian had "provided us all with a beacon of light through the fog of coronavirus".His knighthood, which has been approved by the Queen, comes just weeks after he was made an honorary colonel to mark his milestone birthday and fundraising efforts.The veteran also won a special Pride of Britain
