Cops have launched a probe after a man was allegedly stabbed last night in a Lanarkshire town.Emergency services raced to Hornbeam Road in Cumbernauld after reports of a 27-year-old with serious injuries.He was rushed to hospital and his condition is described as "serious but stable".Locals have said the man was stabbed.The scene was cordoned off and officers were in the street for a number of hours.Police have said they are still investigating the exact circumstances but say they are treating the incident as a "serious assault".A spokeswoman said:“Around 7 pm on Saturday, 28 March, police received a report of a man with serious injuries in Hornbeam Road, Cumbernauld.“On arrival they discovered a 27-year-old man with serious injuries.
