Coronation Street and Emmerdale furlough over 500 crew members

Coronation Street and Emmerdale are just two of the soaps which have been affected by the current outbreak of COVID-19. All over the globe, TV shows and movies are being postponed while many people are being temporarily let go from their jobs.

This is also the case for the crew of Corrie and Emmerdale as the ITV soaps have had to furlough them due to filming being stopped.

This has meant that there has been a significant decrease in the workload needed by the soaps as they are now adapting to spreading out the episodes they already have filmed in order to keep the soaps going as long as possible without filming.
