Coronavirus before-and-after photos show effects of lockdown pollution

As much of the world presses pause on daily life during the coronavirus lockdown, the natural world is thriving with animals roaming empty streets and nature reclaiming urban areas.

Pictures of some of the world’s most popular tourist destinations before and after humans went into lockdown shows the drop in pollution levels is evident.

In some places, air pollution has reduced enormously, with levels in China down 25% and Sydney in Australia 65%. A third of the world’s population is believed to be hunkering down in their homes as global destinations close borders.
