A total of 1,620 people have now died in Scotland’s hospitals after testing positive for coronavirus - an increase of 44 from yesterday’s figures.
The number of people testing positive for Covid-19 has risen to 12,437, which is an increase of 171.Figures released today also show that 104 Scots who currently have confirmed or suspected coronavirus are in intensive care - an increase of five.The number of patients being treated for confirmed or suspected cases in hospital now stands at 1,656, which is a decrease of 64.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed the figures during the Scottish Government’s daily coronavirus press briefing at St Andrew’s House, Edinburgh on Tuesday, May 5.
