Coronavirus claims 23 more lives at Greater Manchester hospitals - at least 246 people in the region have now died

At least 246 people with coronavirus have now died in hospitals in Greater Manchester. The region's death toll rose 23 deaths in 24 hours, NHS England data published today (Monday) showed.

NHS England figures are published for each hospital trust. Further deaths have been announced at the Royal Bolton, Manchester Univeristy NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), Pennine Acute NHS Trust  and Stepping Hill Hospital.

The Royal Bolton recorded nine new coronavirus-related deaths while Stepping Hill announced five more. There were three more deaths at MFT's hospitals, four more at Tameside and two more at Pennine Acute.

A total of 4,897 people have died in England's hospitals after testing positive for the virus. Bolton NHS Foundation Trust - 27 Manchester
