Boris Johnson's 10-day target to ease lockdown with "track and trace" is unravelling after it became clear the full system won't be ready.
The Prime Minister boasted yesterday that a "world-beating" operation to test, track, trace and isolate new infections "will be in place by June 1".
That would give him a green light to ease lockdown - reopening England's primary schools and some non-essential shops from June 1.
But No10 later admitted his pledge didn't include an app to track people's movements - a cornerstone of the new system. Instead ministers said the June 1 is "focused on" 25,000 human contact tracers.
