Coronavirus jail 'hot spot' as 73% of prisoners test positive for deadly bug

A state prison has revealed a large cluster of coronavirus cases, with 73% of inmates testing positive for the potentially life-threatening infection.

The prison, in Marion County, Ohio has at least 1,828 confirmed cases, which accounts for the highest amounts of cases in Ohio.

Authorities say the rigorous testing in Marion Correctional Institution is the cause of the large number of cases, reports NPR.

Although no deaths have been reported at the prison, 109 staff members also tested positive.
