Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said his government is working on putting together a surge healthcare force, asking retired healthcare workers to sign up for a “possible reserve duty.” He said 40,000 have already signed up so far including nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists and those in other occupations.
