People who are self-isolating after becoming ill with coronavirus symptoms will now get regular check-in texts from the NHS.
The government launched the new service on Saturday, which will send daily messages to patients who register their symptoms and contact details with the 111 online service.
The texts will check how people are and ensure those who need help during the quarantine period can receive it. It comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Health Secretary Matt Hancock both confirmed on Friday that they have tested positive for the flu-like virus.
Announcing the new service, Mr Hancock said: “I know all too well that experiencing symptoms can be worrying, but for those living on their own it will be even more so. “Alongside
