A new report claims just half of coronavirus patients in intensive care win their battle against the deadly virus. The grim findings have been revealed as Prime Minister Boris Johnson was moved to an intensive care unit after his condition worsened.
The 55-year-old was admitted to St Thomas' Hospital in London on Sunday, 10 days after he announced he had tested positive for Covid-19.
The worrying report released by Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre (ICNARC) uses information from all confirmed coronavirus cases reported to the organisation by midday on April 3.
It shows that of the 690 patients they were informed about who were placed in intensive care in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, 346 died.
