NEW DELHI: India’s professional colleges, including engineering and B-Schools, brace for a tough year as their campus recruitment process may get hampered with covid-19 pandemic hitting businesses and global economies staring at a recession.
The human resource development ministry on Wednesday asked 24 IITs to arrange for special recruitment drive for students who may have lost or may lose jobs due to the outbreak.
While teaching-learning disruptions are being taken care of by moving classes online, institutions said that covid-19 will immediately impact the summer placement process and ultimately the final hiring season at such schools including Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institutes of management (IIMs).
