BENGALURU : The Karnataka government is in no hurry to open liquor shops in the state, as the excise department has already managed to exceed its fiscal target by almost ₹500 crore, said two people aware of the matter.
The additional revenue, despite almost a month of closure in March gives the state government enough room to keep shutters down till at least the end of the 21-day lockdown period announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
