A driver found with thousands of pounds of drugs in his car, claimed he was a key worker on his way home from a night shift, when he was stopped by police.
Benjamin Evans, who was wearing hi-visibility work clothes, was pulled over by officers during the coronavirus lockdown and tried to talk his way out of the traffic stop.
But a search of his vehicle revealed a package containing cocaine worth a street value of around £57,000. Police said the possession of drugs with intent to supply "does not qualify as essential work" and have called the seizure and conviction an "excellent result" for the communities of the Swansea Valley where the defendant lives.
