A thug with a long history of crime has been jailed for a violent knife attack on two friends, one of them a father-figure who had treated him like his own son.

Drunken Jordan O'Reilly, from Radcliffe, launched a brutal assault on the two men, both in their 60s, after they had given him a lift from Rooden Court in Prestwich, on October 30.

Now O'Reilly, who celebrated his 24th birthday behind bars this weekend, has been sent to prison by a judge who dismissed his plea to be released to look after his 'poorly' mother during the coronavirus lockdown.
