A Dumfries great-grandmother has beaten the odds to survive coronavirus.Frances Telfer’s frantic family feared the worst after she tested positive for Covid-19.But despite suffering from underlying health conditions including diabetes and high blood pressure and battling pneumonia and cancer, the 78-year-old fighter is back on her feet.Frances is recovering at home where she lives with daughter Donna McGhie and son-in-law John.Donna said: “She fought the virus for 12 days at home and has now come out the other side.“Even though she’s in the high risk category because of other health conditions, she’s getting better.The Daily Record has launched our NHS Heroes campaign to thank the remarkable NHS staff who are on the front lines of this
