Materials needed by NHS staff and health care workers around the world have been destroyed in a warehouse fire. Eight fire engines rushed to the scene of a textile factory in Huyton Road, Adlington, at 6pm on Wednesday evening.
A warehouse at the Pincroft factory site was engulfed in fire and firefighters battled the blaze into the early hours of Thursday morning.
Residents in the area have been warned to continue keep their windows and doors closed. Pincroft is the main facility used by Chorley-based manufacturer Carrington Textiles, which creates fabrics used for NHS and healthcare workwear.
Fabrics from the factory are in 'high demand' and some materials intended for NHS and for healthcare staff around the world were being stored in the
