Frankie & Benny's to permanently close 'large number' of restaurants after lockdown

The owners of Frankie & Benny's have reportedly told staff 'a large number' of restaurants will not reopen again after lockdown.

Casual dining chain The Restaurant Group says many sites are "no longer viable to trade and will remain closed permanently", according to an email seen by the BBC.

The bleak message was reportedly sent to managers in its Leisure Division, which includes more than 200 Frankie & Benny's restaurants across the country.

The company also owns Wagamama, although the pan-Asian chain is not part of the division that received the email.
