Government fail to issue single coronavirus 'badge of honour' promised to UK carers

Not a single badge promised as part of a campaign to recognise Britain’s carers has yet been issued. Department of Health and Social Care bosses have yet to send any of the CARE pins that Matt Hancock said would help rally the nation behind our carers.

It is now nearly a month after Hancock was ridiculed over the move, designed to offer priority access to carers who were not offered the same privileges as NHS workers like essential worker slots at supermarkets.

Rehana Azam, national officer of the GMB union, said care workers “need more than a badge and a pat on their head to define their precious role in society”.

The DHSC took over the CARE badge from everyLIFE Technologies Limited, who had launched the badge last year. It is understood
