Almost one in five Londoners and 5% of the rest of the UK as a whole may have had coronavirus, the government has revealed. Health Secretary Matt Hancock said an antibody surveillance study suggests 17% of people in London and around one in 20 people in of the rest of the nation have coronavirus antibodies.
He told the daily Downing Street briefing: "This has told us that around 17% of people in London and around 5% or higher in the rest of the country have tested positive for coronavirus antibodies.
This was based on a sample, but for the public at large to know if they have had coronavirus we need antibody tests at larger scale." Get the latest updates from across Greater Manchester direct to your inbox with the free MEN newsletter You
