A vicar who asked Health Secretary Matt Hancock about whether there would be a review of fines issued during lockdown for childcare-related travel has issued a warning to the government after their sudden U-turn on a review.
The question was posed after the government backed Dominic Cummings' 260-mile drive to his parents' house in Durham while he had coronavirus symptoms.
Reverend Martin Poole had asked the health secretary about fines during yesterday's daily briefing. Matt Hancock had said it was "perfectly reasonable to take away that question" and that the government could review the question with colleagues.
