The Government is expected to sign off on the Covid-19 vaccination plan later this morning and it will be published this afternoon.
The plan will list the five types of locations where the vaccinations will be provided. They include hospitals and healthcare facilities, nursing homes, mass vaccination centres, GP surgeries and community pharmacies.
Under the plan up to 14.3 million doses of the vaccine could be purchased from possibly six different companies at a cost of more than €112 million.
It will be available to people free of charge with the first group, those aged over 65 in long-term care, expected to receive the vaccine in January.
