Health and Safety Executive 'making enquiries' after man dies following 'wall collapse' at house

The Health and Safety Executive are 'making enquiries' into a tragic incident in which a man died following reports of a wall collapsing at a house in south Manchester.

Emergency services, including police, fire crews and an air ambulance, attended the scene of the fatal incident at a house on Lloyd Street South, near Fallowfield, just before 3pm on Saturday (September 16).

Police said the man, aged in his 40s, was believed to have been involved in a 'workplace accident' as renovations were being carried out at the terraced property and later died at the scene. A statement said: “We are liaising with the police and we are making initial inquiries to make sure it is an incident that we have the remit to investigate.” Emergency crews were called to reports of concerns for the welfare of a man at the property however, despite the best efforts of paramedics, a man aged in his 40s died at the scene.
