A test version of the NHS coronavirus contact-tracing app is being trialled on the Isle of Wight. The health secretary Matt Hancock outlined how the 'test, track and trace' app will work at the Government's daily briefing on Monday.

From tomorrow, the app will be piloted on the Isle of Wight, starting with health professionals before rolling out to all residents.

The health secretary said the app could be rolled out across the rest of the UK 'by the middle of this month'. The Isle of Wight has a single NHS Trust and a relatively low number of coronavirus cases he says, making it a good place for a trial.
