A 33-year-old woman is in the midst of a 61 week wait for excruciating pain in her head that can last entire working weeks. The Salford woman fears something sinister could be fuelling her migraines, as any treatment she has tried so far has failed to help.
Despite being referred to Salford Royal Hospital to see a neurology consultant, she has been told she must wait more than a year for answers.
Her wait is more than three times the national average for a routine appointment with a consultant in the NHS, which currently stands at 18 weeks according to the health service.
