New Delhi: India recorded 63 fresh coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, pulling down the active caseload to to 1,910 from 1,925, according to an update by the health ministry on Monday.
Total case tally stood at at 4.49 crore (4,49,93,543), while death toll has been recorded at 531,896. Health experts have noted a decrease in hospital admissions due to the declining number of cases.
Despite this, elderly individuals and those with comorbid conditions remain at risk. Vulnerable populations have been advised to take their booster shots and continue observing covid-19 protocols.
Experts say that the current variants of the coronavirus are likely to be less severe due to widespread hybrid immunity, a result of both vaccination efforts and natural infections.
