When I walked through Los Angeles airport just over two weeks ago on my way to London, I was wearing a black mask and white cotton gloves.
However, I felt I was the target of mocking titters and a few people pointed at me derisively. I felt like a ninny. How quickly time has changed those attitudes!
Now, hundreds of people in the streets and supermarkets of London are similarly attired. This terrible virus, and the subsequent lockdown, is almost dream-like in its sudden arrival.
I feel like we are all living in a disaster movie. The last time I felt like this, I was a little child living in London during the Blitz (as we called Hitler’s bombing of London during World War II, for those of you who don’t remember).
