Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan was left raging on today's Good Morning Britain after being told to stop speaking by Health Secretary Matt Hancock.

The GMB host gave Mr Hancock a grilling on allowing relatives into intensive care units, his PPE testing target and a tweet by Health Minister Nadine Dorries on what we need to do to come out of full lockdown.

During an intense exchange, Piers lost his rag when the Health Secretary claimed the government was prepared for the coronavirus pandemic.

Piers said: "Stop playing that game with me Mr Hancock. You’re buying yourself a bit of time. "I'd admire you more if your admitted you weren't properly prepared. "Your resolute refusal to concede you made any mistakes here grates with me and misjudges the public mood.
