Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan was left furious on Twitter earlier today after being jibed about Good Morning Britain ratings. The 55-year-old television presenter has been hosting the popular ITV show as usual amid the current coronavirus pandemic.

However when he was sent a tweet which slated the show, claiming their "ratings have collapsed", the former Britain's Got Talent judge was not happy.

He replied to the Tweet, blasting them on the social media site as he branded it "fake news". Piers fumed: "Hi Guido, nice try but fake news. "The BBC also 'collapsed' by 31% - because, as you know, March 24 was peak moment in this crisis (after lockdown)." The controversial presenter continued, claiming the show is actually having their "highest ratings ever".
