Loose Women's Coleen Nolan has revealed a terrifying health scare that left her unable to breathe, as doctors told her she was at risk of emphysema.The 58 year old TV star took to Instagram to share the news as she revealed that the health prognosis finally got her to give up smoking.

Coleen took to Instagram to post a video where she sat holding a hot drink as she addressed the camera and said: "Guys, I have big news.

Big life changing news for me," as words at the top read: "Hardest thing I've ever done." She went on: "For those who know me, I have been a heavy smoker, and I've tried everything over the year." Coleen said that she's tried "patches, vaping, tablets, everything" but admitted that none of them had ever worked for her.

Detailing her recent health scare, the mum of three said: "However, recently I got really, really ill with a severe chest infection. "Could not breathe, genuinely, for a good few days, was struggling to breathe." She then spoke about how she went to see a specialist doctor, who spoke to her about the possibility of COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) emphysema.
