Man who downed shots in lockdown challenge drinking game now in coma

A man has reportedly fallen into a coma after downing a litre-and-a-half of booze while on a lockdown video call with his friends.

With much of the world currently on lockdown in an effort to curb the impact of the deadly coronavirus, many people have taken to keeping in touch with friends, family and loved ones on group video calls.

But one group of friends from Belgium appear to have taken things too far, and one of them was rushed to hospital while taking part in the latest lockdown internet craze.

After falling ill, the man was taken to the intensive care unit of the Marie Curie University Hospital in Charleroi, a city in the western Belgian province of Hainaut, earlier this week.
