Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly said he expects to be updated in a few weeks by the Chief Medical Officer on Covid-19 isolation periods.
He said he anticipates it will be brought in line with general advice for other diseases, but added he did not want to pre-empt any recommendation either.
Speaking on his way into Cabinet this morning, Mr Donnelly said other counties are indicating a move to shorter isolation periods.
He also said he wants to see the pandemic bonus paid to healthcare workers as quickly as possible and that he expects the final details to be signed off imminently. Latest coronavirus stories The number of patients with Covid-19 in hospital is 1,433, an increase of 29 on yesterday's figure.
