Rosy-cheeked baby Elsie beams into the camera while her mum cannot tear her eyes away from her little girl. This is the first time Jordan Green held her daughter after months apart from her baby while ­waiting for a heart transplant.

Just three weeks after giving birth in July last year, Jordan was diagnosed with sudden heart failure. She was placed on life support and the “very urgent” ­transplant list, and saved by a donor heart – the eighth time lucky after the first seven were deemed unsuitable.

This week, as the Mirror-backed Max and Keira’s Law on organ donation is finally due to come into force, Jordan wants to thank the donor family for giving her a chance to be a mum.
