Almost 1,000 babies have been born in Bolton during the coronavirus pandemic, with midwives working throughout the lockdown to deliver the babies safely.
Across Bolton, 995 babies have been delivered from March 1 to May 5, according to figures from Bolton NHS Foundation Trust. The first coronavirus fatalities in the UK were in early March and the country went into lockdown on March 23.
Today marks International Day of the Midwife and midwives working throughout the pandemic have been praised by their continued commitment.
