Rapist Pavel Ocneanu left his new wife at home and attacked a stranger just hours after returning to the UK following his Romanian wedding.
The 30-year-old today began a seven-year jail term after forcing himself on his victim in his car. Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard he left his new wife at home as she was tired from the journey back to the Potteries.
He then went to a house party in Shelton and spied the other woman getting out of a nearby taxi. He would later claim he had sex consensually after she had waved at him and got into his car.
But a jury heard she was "hopelessly drunk" and in an unfit state to have given consent. The victim started struggling and kicking out when she was attacked.
